Equipment:
Wrestling shoes are mandatory. Please also be sure to bring a water bottle. Please make sure your child’s equipment is cleaned often, including shoes and headgear. We also make great efforts to keep our mats clean to promote a safe and healthy environment.
Parent Responsibities:
Please have your child to practice early enough to be able to change shoes and be ready to practice at the start time. Appropriate practice clothing is shorts and a t-shirt that are NOT loose or baggy.
Headgear is mandatory for the “live” wrestling portion of practice and will be provided to each wrestler. No “street shoes” or bare feet are allowed in the wrestling room. There is absolutely no food or drinks permitted in the wrestling room.
Your child is responsible for their own apparel in the wrestling room. If something is left at the wrestling room or in the hallway after practice, we cannot ensure it will still be there at the next practice.
Personal hygiene is essential to this sport. Be sure that your child showers after every practice and match. If you notice any itching or signs of a rash, sore, cut, etc. you MUST tell one of the coaches. EVEN IF YOU HVE A DOCTOR’S NOTE.
If your child is not going to be at practice or a match, Please call either Coach Tom(216)469-7976 or Alisha Mastrobuono (440)477-1756 to let them know ASAP.
We DO NOT condone or allow crash dieting or any extreme measures to make a certain weight for varsity wrestlers (All-Start wrestlers wrestle at whatever weight they are), We will make weight class decisions in conjunction with the parents on a individual basis, but the final weight class decisions are made by the coaches.
if you have any questions about rules, schedules, diet, or any other part of our program, please feel free to discuss this with one of the coaches.
